A Board of Review (BOR) is a local committee of residents, appointed by the township board, that receives and hears taxpayer appeals of the annual assessment roll, ensuring assessments are lawfully set and property taxes are administered fairly.
The primary function of a Board of Review is to review the assessment roll prepared by the assessor and hear appeals from property owners regarding their property's valuation and classification.
BORs meet annually in March to hear appeals related to the current year's assessment. They may also hold meetings in July and December to address specific issues like errors, exemptions, and other appeals.
Meeting dates and times will be posted here and on our Facebook page. Appointments are encouraged, contact Annette Arsnoe.
